Event 7026 (BSOD) Vista SP2 HP Pavilion RRS feed

  • Question

  • Alright, as it says above I have windows Vista (64 bit) Service pack 2 on a HP Pavilion Phenom x4. During the Log off/Switch User process, I get the infamous BSOD (that I thought I escaped from when I went with vista...imagine my surprise) and a message stating that some drivers failed to load. Recently, a sound driver was updated by a tech support specialist (hmm...) and it was around that time my baby started going haywire. I have tried to do a system restore to before the driver(s?) was updated and have also have the updated driver disabled(?) which only temporarily solved the problem. Also, I am NOT the sole user of the computer so I am unable to verify if the critical Seagate update has been done on the computer. Here is the most recent the event detail:

Another problem I am encountering is the computer failing to sleep correctly, as it wakes up no less than five seconds after i press the keyboard's "sleep" button (I also use the start menu's button too and keep in mind there is no Hibernate feture). The log states that the last sleep transition was unsuccessful. This error reads:
