How to get IE 8.0.7601? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to test some reports on IE 8.0.7601. We cannot use any other latest version but only this particular version.

I read on one of the posts that IE 8.0.7601 is not available for download but it is IE 8 downloaded on Windows 7 Service Pack 1. I have IE 9 installed on my Win 7 Service Pack 1 system. I uninstalled IE 9, downloaded and installed IE 8 on my system but still I do not get the required version.

Can someone please guide me on how to get this version?

  • uninstalled IE 9, downloaded and installed IE 8

That's not the way it works on W7.  IE8 is the base level of browsing functionality in that OS, so whatever you got after you uninstalled IE9 is what is currently embedded in your OS.  Then to reduce it further you would have to find some updates to uninstall.  It may even be an idea to uninstall your W7sp1 service pack and see what you get after that.

Instead of messing with a live system consider using a VM to build what you want to use.

However, even then I think you would be getting current maintenance.  What exactly are you looking for when you say "8.0.7601"?

Notice that the only thing that matches 760 in there is this

8.00.7600.16385 Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2 (release)

But apparently "current maintenance" could give you a set of 8.0.7601

    (Ctrl-f for 8.0.7601 finds  356)

so my guess would be that the VM called "IE8 on Win7" would give you what you are looking for.

    Good luck
