hi guysI got a weird issue.I have 2 Windows 2008 they have shared folder and they access their folder OK.\\Server1\\Server2This work OKNow I have some Windows XP and Windows 2000.This W2000 has some shared folders too...I can browse the shared folders this W2000 has from my Windows 2008s.But I cannot browse the shared folder my W2008s have from my W2000 and Windows XPs.just to add my Windows 2008 are in kinda cloud service so my customer is trying to access these W2008 using NAT.Basically real IPs are like 192.168.200.xxx and the NAT IPs are 192.168.200.xSo basicallyBrowsing shares from W2008 -> to Windows 2000 -> Works OK.Browsing shares from W2000 - Win XP -> to W20008 -> Does not Work.Any idea?No Antivirus - and RPD works OK both ways and latest Win updates in W2008thanks a lotFriday, November 4, 2011 7:57 PM

445 works from my network
but 445 does not work from the 2000-XP network
Start by disabling all firewalls that you have and check again. This port have to be opended for communication.

1. SMB might be blocked in other direction
2. Windows Firewall may be causing issue, disable it & try

Seems to be an issue with port restrictions.
As per the description, I assume 2008 Servers and your client computers are part of two different networks.
Perhaps, SMB over TCP (port 445) has been blocked from 2000/xp -> 2008 network segment.
Please have your network team involved to verify the firewall rules.

Hello,
fist of all, check that port 445 is not blocked. Use Portqry v2 for check.
Once done, try to access shares using IP addresses. If that works, check that there is no problem with name resolution process.
