refinement not showing up other than first page RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, All:

Not sure anyone experience this before, we have SP 2010 farm(srv1) and FS4SP(srv2) deployed. Three managed properties have been created and marked as refinable with deep refiner.

They also been added to refinement panel xml configuration, everything seems really fine and dandy with search results showing. The refiner shows up perfectly.

The problme lines on the when paging (we use default 10 result per page) is selected, say page 2, 3 or any page other first page, then refinement panel is not showing up and we get "No refinements available".

Not even the OOB result type, author, last modified date, :(.

I have the Query Logger tool http://fs4splogger.codeplex.com/releases/view/98451 open at the backend FS4SP server, as it clearly shows in any non-first page query, there is no Navigation entries  <NAVIGATION ENTRIES="0" />

But the first page results always show <NAVIGATION ENTRIES="5">, which the xml nodes info in Navigation entries are refinement infomation.

I have compared the queries between first and other pages, they look almost identical except offset value, which is expected, but why the subsequent query Navigation/Refinement info is coming back blank?

Any ideas what could be causing this issue?

    thanks,

    -nh

  • Thanks, Amir.

Change the threshold value made no difference, but after delete all managed properties, and recreating them(then full crawl), the problem has been fixed. :).
