  • Computer Browser service in my computer is missing. Seems like need to be reinstalled again. How can i reinstall computer browser service.

  • Do you actually need it? We disable it by default :-)

     

    Anyway, you could try re-creating it with the "sc create" command : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/251192

    You can check dependencies and the path to the executable on an existing computer.

    That is the command for the Computer browser service.

     

    In the registry you have to have the following: However this is a registry setting from windows 7. I'm not sure if its completely identical with windows xp, but browse to see if you have the browser folder in the Current controlset.

    copy and paste into a notepad rename it as .reg and then run it. This is not guarantied to work as is a windows 7 registry export. You can search your registry and do a compare and contrast to see whats missing.
