IE11 - Default timeout values RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

After deploying IE11 in our organization, we have several web applications that are displaying "<webpage> is not responding" on long(er) running server-side actions. The data is being returned eventually, however with IE11 displaying this message, our end-users are under the impressions that the browser is stuck (and will always hit the Recover webpage button in the not responding dialog).

We also tested this on a VM (W7 with IE11) without any of our corporate policies, settings or other management tools and the issue also occurs on the Microsoft VM's.

The supplier of the application discards this behavior on IE (IE is more "sensitive"), however I cannot determine the default settings for the IE browser. And before I apply a quick and dirty solution, I first want to ensure there is nothing wrong in our configuration/network/DNS/routing to these application servers.

Therefore, I would like to know the default values in the IE11 browser for:

    • KeepAliveTimeout
    • ServerInfotimeout
    • Receivetimeout

Does anyone know these for IE11?

I can only find KB articles for older version of the browser ( / ) and I can't find/don't know if they also applicable on IE11.

    Our corporate workstations run Windows 7 x64, with IE11 (on patchlevel 11.0.14 / KB3003057)
