Security Center error %%1290 and/or 1250 0x50a RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using WIN XP Pro SP3

When opening Security Center, the message under Security Essentials displays, "The Security Center is currently unavailable because the "Security Center" service has not started or was stopped.  Please close this window, restart the computer (or start the "Security Center" service), and then open the Security Center again."

    'System Events' shows an ERROR

The Security Center service failed to start due to the following error: %%1290

And the Start attempt in 'Services (Local)' pops up "Could not start the Security Center service on Local Computer  Error 1290 0x50a"

    Any ideas?
