Missing microsoft hosted network virtual adapter in windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I wanted create a hotspot with usb modem but 'hosted network supported' shows no.I've searched for this issue and most of the users solved it with enabling 'microsoft hosted network virtual adapter' from device manager.I don't have this adaptor in the list(after showing hidden ones too).I can't even find it in the list for 'add legacy hardware'.Additional drivers for downloading are mostly hyper-v ones. Can i fix it with them?or can i download 'microsoft hosted network virtual adapter' manually?

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your question.

First may I confirm that you click “show hidden devices” in the Device Manager, then find “Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter” in the list of network devices?

    Detail steps,

    1. Press Windows key + R for Run.

    2. Type devmgmt.msc and then Enter.

    3. Click on View and then Show hidden Devices.

    4. Now check if the driver exists.

Furthermore, Windows Update helps keep your computer up to date with the latest system updates and drivers. You can check Windows Update manually to help ensure you have the latest updates. Install all important and optional updates and check if it helps.

    Steps: -

1)Go to Start and then Settings.

    2)Click on Update and Recovery.

3)Check for updates under Windows Updates.

4)Restart the system and check if the issue is resolved.
