Windows 7 goes sleep mode although it shouldn't RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use windows 7 home premium on my Toshiba Qosmio X505. I run some calculations on it which may take  a few hours. I want it not to go sleep before the calculations end and also want it go to sleep after 15 minutes of calculations end. But it goes to sleep  at what amount of time I defined in the in the power plan. If I say 1 hour it goes  sleep after an hour no matter if the cpu is running something. So my calculations generally interrupted. If I say never go sleep it may be a solution but in this case the laptop will be open for all night long. Is there fixing for this?

  • hi,

The power controls are not figured to monitor CPU loads, it's not ment to work like this. Power control can't calculate CPU loads and monitor what proccess you are currntly running and on what scale, if this was produced it would be a very sneaky feature :)

    hope this answers
