Lumia 1520 When charging the phone starts to overheat. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Lumia 1520 running the following build.

    OS build: 10.0.10586.107

    Firmware revision: 02540.00019.14484.37028

Because my phone is overheating while charging, I am unable to get the battery to 40% charge.

The phone did start to charge properly when the OS was not running.

Is there a way to charge the phone without the OS starting?

  • 1. Make sure no background application is running.

    2. You can change Battery Saver settings by opening the Battery Saver app.

    3. To perform a soft reset, press and hold the Volume Down + Power buttons for 15 seconds until the devices vibrates and reboots.

    4. May be the battery condition is not good. Get it checked by the authorised serving centre.

  • My 1520 gets hot while charging and not the battery but on the same spot as with heavy use. Its not very hot, but noticeable. This does not happen on 8.1. Some builds are worse than others.

Also check your type of charger. In most builds 10 builds using a charger that produce the slow charge notice will actually drain the rather than change it.
