COM Port Does not Open in Windows 10 Pro ? RRS feed

    Hi !

    We are struggling to OPEN RS-232 COM port in our Windows 10 Pro based PC. The hardware is Ethernet to RS232 converter (4-port) and even after installing the Application SW and COM port driver we cannot open the COM port in PC (none of the 4 COM ports open). 

    While over TCP we are able to communicate with an IP address and TCP data ports but not with COM ports. COM ports are visible in DEVICE MANAGER but we cannot open it. What could be the reason ?

    Can you share the code that you are using to open the COM port? Who is the manufacture of the device, what is the model number?

    I also suggest that you reach back to the Ethernet to RS232 device manufacturing to see what they have to say.
