Web server Template is not displaying in the Certificate request of CA

    Question

  • Hi,

Web Server option is not available in the Certificate Template, I try to login "https://cersrv.domain.com/certsrv" - > click Request a certificate->  Click Submit a certificate request by using a base-64-encoded CMC or PKCS #10 file, or submit a renewal request by using a base-64-encoded PKCS #7 file. " I am getting error pop like No certificate template has been found"

I have installed new CA  in a domain on win 2012.

Please let me know what to enable to get list of enable.? i need web server template.

    Things I have tried,

Login to CA as Root Administrator-> go into Certificate authority-> click certificate template-> "web server template is available here"

in console i add certificate template-> over there also I am able to view Wb server template.

Please let me know if I need to change anything on IIS of CA side.

  • We tend not to use the web pages any more for requesting certificates. The preferred method is to use the MMC certificates snap in.

Assuming you have published the web server template on your CA, and your CA is AD integrated and correctly configured, then you should be able to open the mmc with the certificate snap in - load it against your computer, not your user account, then right click personal store and select request new certificate. Go through the wizard and so long as you have the relevant rights, and the CA is correctly setup you should see the various templates you can request.

    Thanks

    Denis
