missing hard disk space RRS feed

  • hi, i was working on my XP machine and suddenly it started warning me of low disk space, i checked the hard disk space and saw that I had less than 1GB left and was missing about 10GB of hard disk space, how can I resolve the issue

  • Sir, try to run Disk Defragmenter and check again : 

     

    Defragment a Disk Volume

    1. If the Disk Defragmenter tool is not already running, clickStart, point toAll Programs, point toAccessories, point toSystem Tools, and then clickDisk Defragmenter.
    2. Click the volume that you want to defragment.
    3. ClickDefragmentto begin the operation.
    4. Review the progress of the operation in the Defragmentation Display window. Fragmented files on the disk appear in red, contiguous files are blue, and system files are green. The goal is to eliminate most of the red in the window.

  • i ran the disk defragmenter and i actually discovered a file that couldnt defragment "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Yahoo!\Companion\CrashLogs". The files are about 10GB in size.I dont know how it came about. thanks alot for the tip.

  • yes, Delete it , because it's Log File ...
