in Exchange 2007 Sp2 for Ent and STD version the maximum was 2 GB, in Exchange 2010 the maximum for ENT and STD Editions are 10 GB or 100,000 Items per folder.
Keep in mind that there is no hard limit so if your mailbox grow to be 15 GB Exchange will not prevent it, but this limit comes for performance and best practices point of view

For Exchange 2007 and 2010 infact if you set "ProhibitSendAndReceive" as Unlimited then it means your mailbox will not be checked for any limit. If you set some value then maximum is almost 2TB (Tera Bytes).
Also using EMC when you try to set ProhibitSendAndReceive size (in KB) to a very large value, then Exchange tells you the range in numbers which you can set if this property is not set to 'Unlimited', and upper limit of that range is
2147483647 KB = 2097151 MB = almost 2 TB
You can see similar thread here: maximum mailbox size in 2007
