Customizing Windows 10 start menu RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am attempting to customize the Windows 10 start menu.  I would like to not rely on Classic Shell in the future and try to use the native methods.

I want to unpin all of the square tile items via the DefaultLayouts.xm and I have done so.  The reason for this is in my user base as soon as they start seeing short cuts they completely forget "all programs" or in this case "all apps" exists.  Since we can't pin all our programs there and all of our Help Desk needs to join AA to begin with, I would like to make it as consistent with previous XP / 7 as possible.

I find the following hard to describe. Once the tiles are removed there is the extra black space.  I can drag the bar over but I would like to do that by default for all users.

Here is a picture of what I want.  http://imgur.com/AqvPO1M

It has to be possible because when I log out and back in as my menu is still like that.  The information is being stored somewhere but how can I apply it globally?  Goal is new logged in users, not existing profiles.

    Thank you.
