windows 8 error operating system RRS feed

  • my dell 3537 hard drive crash and I replaced for a new one, it asked my for the operating system, I bought one from dell, came in a flash drive, now it tells my error loading operating system, I ran a  system test from dell and everything is fine, don't know what to do

    Please provide the error message correctly.

    I guess you only don't set your BIOS to primary boot device as USB HDD or something like that.  You can make the flash drive the first boot device in BIOS settings, and install Windows from it. As for BIOS settings, please read your user's manual.

    How did you replace the drive? Have you performed a clean installation?

    What is the exact error message you have got?

    According to present information, it seems that the BCD has been corrupted. Please try to boot into WinRE to have a fix.

    Keep pressing “shift” and restart the machine choose “Troubleshoot”, “Advanced”, “Startup repair”

    Or choose “Command line prompt” and run “Bcdboot C:\windows” (Assume c:\ is the system drive)
