Applying SSAS Role in Proclarity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,
I am currently involved in implementing dynamic security for dimension, which i successfully implemented. But with that i have a problem, I created a role "ISUSER" and associated the dimension security to that roels. i also added one of the AD user to the "ISUSER" role. When i browse the cube in proclarity using the AD user  (the one added to ISUSER), dimension security is not implemented  and all the data's are displayed.

Can any one pls suggest a way to acheive this.

    Cheers :)
    Mani.

  • Hi,

Please correct me if i am wrong, you are browsing the cube using desktop pro. When you connect to the cube you have an advanced option below. Enter the user id and password and then browse the cube. Also in your proclarity admin tool right click on the server name->properties->logging and security make sure that cubes use OLAP security is selected.Hope this solves your problem.

    regards,
    Ram

  • Hello Mani,

Are you still having security problems?  As long as you're using OLAP security as Ram suggested, security should persist so long as that user isn't added to multiple roles.  If you're still experiencing problems, remove that user from all rolse except ISUSER and test again.  You can also try testing within Excel (Pivot Table) by creating an OLAP chart.  This will at least tell us if it's a ProClarity problem or if something in your role needs to be altered.
