Report Builder 2 - link to a pdf in a network folder? RRS feed

  • In Report Builder I'd like to create a link from a column field to open a pdf file held in a network folder.

  • Hi Chris,

    If I understand correctly, we can use URL access in SSRS to solve this issue.

    You can refer to following steps:
    1. Right click the textbox in tablix, select Text Box Properties.
    2. Click Action in the left in the Text Box Properties dialog box.
    3. Select “Go to URL” below “Enable as an action”.
    4. We can type “File://Servername/Demo/Demo.pdf” in the text box below ”Select URL” as we need.
    5. Deploy the report, we can get the result.

    Also, we can convert the PDF object to image object to work around this issue. And display the image on the report body.
