DHCP Migration RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am in the middle of a project to retire our entire Windows 2008 Server Estate. We have a variety of different Server Roles such as Application and DHCP. We are moving from W2008 to W2016. I was wondering if Microsoft have any kind of tool that could help with this migration or is it just a case of exporting the servers DHCP database and importing to a new server and completing the configuration?

Any information on this subject would be very useful.

    Regards.

  • Hi,

i don't believe there a specific tool from Microsoft for doing this, but you can export the old database from the W2008 server and import it to W2016 by following this guide:

    https://appuals.com/how-to-migrate-dhcp-from-windows-server-2008-r2-to-windows-server-2016/

i don't know if you have came across this yet...
