  • Question

  • Is there a way to disable or delete windows mail. I have no use for it and I have never had access to it. I have been getting error message on startup since March 2007. Every time I login I get winmail.exe is out of memory and two other popups. A report is sent 3 times every time I logon and I have never received any information on solving this problem. What do I need to do to or you to need correct this problem? This problem is getting anoying.

  • I don't have any ideas of what to do about it. That is why I posted this question.

  • For what it is worth

I just gave Tweak VI and Vista Manager a try

    No luck with these programs.
other than being able to do what I have been doing all along.
Terminating the winmail.exe file in task manager
In Fact Vista managers does little more than open task manager for much of it's features.
Not something I am willing to pay extra for

I wonder if it is possible to create a script to close it down in the startup area ?

  • This may help you a little

I was able to get Winmail to quite loading and staying in memory by
    1. opening winmail from the program menu
    2. Cancel the setup
    3. Turn OFF every option in the program.
especially the check on startup and check every (time ) default was 30 min
    4. I un-installed the antivirus that was loaded on this system by the manufacturer
Doing away with the proxy it used

It is No longer a TSR

Now the job is to find a new better anti virus for use with vista
