How do you copy a site in SharePoint 3.0? RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I've created a site that displays key production variables for 1 line in a plant.  I want to copy the site for the other lines, and then edit some parameters to match each line instead of starting from scratch for each site.

This seems like an easy question, but I can't find the answer.

  • If you on the page go to site settings, you can save the site as a template.

  • As long as you don't have the publishing features enabled. Publishing sites cannot be saved as templates. You can also go into Site Content and Structure and copy the sites from there.

  • Thanks, this works, but it doesn't copy the sub-sites, the top link bar, logos, etc.  Do I have to update these things individually?

  • It is the last item on the default actions menu and the second to last link in Site Settings.
