Mailbox size notification behavior

Question
-
This might be a dumb question, but I have a user that didn't get a message stating that he was in warning status for his mailbox size.
Server: Exchange 2007 SP3
Client: Outlook 2010
He used to get messages from the server into his Inbox with this information, and then another message when the mailbox was actually full. Now, there was a message in Outlook (in the notification bar) that stated this, but no other messages. Did this change at some point and I'm just finding this out now, or do I have a bigger problem on the server? The server is configured to send notifications at 1am for the database he is on.
Any thoughts / insight?
Thanks!

Are you sure that the user didn't get a notification?
I would check the messagetracking logs to see if that was true or not.Martina Miskovic
