FSIS download RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having a hard time getting straight all of the SKUs for FAST but my understanding is that in order to install FSIS,its really a matter of downloading FAST ESP (esp_5_3_sp3_slipstream_win32) i.e. they are the same product.  Is this correct or is there a FSIS installer somewhere?  I didnt's see anything FSIS-like in MSDN so was about to cruise over to Microsoft Connect.

  • Hi K C,

The FSIS download should be available in MSConnect at http://connect.microsoft.com.  The files to download that are FSIS specific are:

FSIS_license_key - Terms for Internal Use of FAST Search Server 2010 for Internet Sites: Internal use of Fast Search Server 2010 for Internet Sites (FSIS) is subject to approval under your BG's policies and the rules and licensing terms which are described in the file “Terms for Internal Use of FSIS” which is contained in download package.  If you cannot comply with these rules and licensing terms, then you cannot use FSIS for your application.  Before accepting these terms and downloading FSIS, you must first obtain your BG's approval to use FSIS for your intended application(s).

fsis_1_0_win32 - This package contains the RTM installers and product documentation for the non-ESP components in FSIS:

SetUp_FSIS.msi and FSIS_1.cab are needed to install the FSIS backend

FSIS_Designer.msi is needed to install the FAST Search Designer for Visual Studio

IMS_Toolkit.msi is needed to install with the IMS UI Toolkit

FeedingOverlay.exe is a self-extracting archive with two dedicated FSIS document processing stages for ESP 5.3 SP3

Please refer to the FSIS product documentation and the Release notes for details on installation and configuration.

Please do not attempt to install the software without having consulted the release notes and Installation chapters of the product documentation.

There are also the below patches available for download:

    fsis_2010_rtm_patch01
    fsis_2010_rtm_patch02_win32

Please read the included release notes for details regarding pre-requisites and procedures.

If you cannot locate these on MSConnect, you should contact Fast Customer Care at fastcsrv@microsoft.com to get access to the MSConnect site, or FSIS added to your profile.  The above would be in addition to the ESP 5.3 software, available in the esp_5_3_sp3_slipstream_win32 download.  Let us know your results.

  • Hi Taranjot,

When you log into connect.microsoft.com, you should be able to access "fast search" repositary from home( in case you don't then contact fastcsrv@microsoft.com for requesting access). When you click on "FAST Search" you will be redirected to "Fast Search Home" and on left hand side there is list of the products in Fast, you have access to. If you cant see FSIS in there, please contact fastcsrv@microsoft.com and request access to the same.
