Skype for business client picture is not updating for all the users. RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have multiple users where the environment is Skype for Business on premise and Office 365 mailboxes. When users update the photo in the share point portal which is SharePoint online. It's reflecting in outlook and SharePoint but it not reflecting in the Skype for business client for all the users. Users are using the Skype for business client and some of them can able to see the new picture and some of them can't able to see them. Please let me know if any one have any idea to troubleshoot this issue.

  • I have found a solution of this problem, we need to first update the picture in Thumbnail Attribute in AD. The picture size should be less than 30 KB as per the default policy of a user. The resolution should be less than 96 x 96 pixel. Once you update the picture in AD wait for 24 hrs. and next day it should reflect to SfB client, if it's not exit the client and delete the SIP folder and re login, it should immediately show the updated picture.

  • Hi Sskwizard,

For affected users, enter “Ctrl” key and right click SFB icon in taskbar, choose “Configuration Information” to check EWS status and MAPI status if it is OK, then run the following command on FE:

    Update-CsUserDatabase

If not, try  to rebuild SFB profile to check if the picture is updated. In addition, update SFB to the latest.
