  • Hi,

I have the same issue, see:

All our applications cannot be installed on Windows 10 Mobile.

I created this topic a month ago but no one seems to be concerned by the issue.

From my company point of view if Windows 10 Mobile does not ensure backward compatibility for applications (including ours), we'll simply ignore Windows 10 Mobile until "enough" devices use it.

Windows 10 seemed to have the same installation issue with the same error code, but it had been fixed just because many people complained about it. I hope they won't do the same for Windows Phone and fix it before users and/or developers move from WindowsPhone to another OS.

As I said in my topic, I'd be glad to provide materials to Microsoft as I don't have the tools to identify the issues more precisely.

  • I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that I've found the cause of this problem: It came the size of the executable inside the package. Windows 10 Mobile does not allow installation of package with executable greater than ~2.5MB.
Windows Phone 8.1 also has this kind of limitation but it's a bit higher (3 to 3.5MB).

The bad news is that I only know one solution: The developer has to modify the code of the application to reduce the size of the executable (by dispatching code into separate DLL).
I don't know the reason of such limitation as it seems very low.

    - Could it be possible for Microsoft to set it as the same for Windows 10 Mobile as it is for Windows Phone 8.1?
    - Does anyone know the reason of this limitation?
