Restricting use of a response group? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is possible to restrict who can make calls to a particular response group?  We want to create a group that will call all of our staff but to avoid it being used for the wrong reasons we would like to restrict which users can make calls to it.

Is such a thing possible in Lync 2010?

  • I don't believe there is an elegant way to achieve this but in theory you could have separate voice policies and in the "disallowed" group you could choose to not allow the RG number to be normalized correctly so it would never route. There would of course have to be a corresponding "allowed" group where the number would normalize normally.

After writing the above I of course realized that this would not stop a Lync call so I'm not sure what to suggest other than possibly an MSPL script.

  • The Lync Server doesn’t have this function natively.

Maybe someone may help you in the MSDN forum.
