How can I know which app is requesting 2FA? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've just enabled 2FA on my Hotmail account. Now my Authenticator App is notifying me to Approve/Deny login every few minutes, but i'm not trying to log into anything.

So something must be automatically trying to log in, on some computer. I've checked all my computers and I can't find anything that is trying to authenticate (other then apps that I already authenticated into using 2FA). Like Outlook, Skype, mobile Outlook, Win10 Mail, etc...

My question is, how can I find out what is trying to log in? App, IP, location, anything...

I don't want to click Allow, in case it's someone trying to hack into my account, but also don't want to get a notification every few minutes.

My only alternative is to disable 2FA, but that seems a ridiculous option.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Art.

  • Hi Artom.h,

    Sorry for the delay.

For now, Microsoft authenticator app does not support to find which app try to log in.

Are you sign out of other computers?

    Best regards,

    Jason Ye
