wsus not preventing clients from downloading updates during work hours RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an issue where i have setup the AD GPO "Limit the maximum network bandwidth for bits background transfer"  0kbbs from 7am to 6 pm and at all other times use all available unused bandwidth but clients are still downloading update from wsus during work hours. It's dragging our network. Anyway i can track this down and prevent it from happening? We have 99.9% windows 7 PCs. Thanks.

Answers

  • Hi my3cents,

We may use command gpresult /h C:\report.html on client to check if the GPO is applied correctly.

Also check the related registry settings on client:

    Best Regards,

    Anne

This is a Computer-Setting, did you have set the GPO on Clients in
your AD? We have the same settings, works.

  • It's work hours now and the client is getting updates from wsus. The report below is from this client. It looks like the GPO did apply correctly.
