Get this message in backup windows 7 64 bit system:Backup skipped backing up D:\ as it is on the backup target.error code 0x8100002F RRS feed


  • Hi,
    When you chose “Let Windows choose(recommended)” the following items are included in your backup:
    1.Data files that are saved in libraries, on the desktop, and in default Windows folders for all people with a user account on the computer.
    2.If the drive you are saving your backup on is formatted using the NTFS file system and has enough disk space, a system image of your programs, Windows, and all drivers and registry settings are also included in the backup.
    From the error message –“ Error code 0x8100002f- Backup skipped backing up D:\ as it is on the backup target.”  This message tell us your system is backup a folder which is located in the target partition. Please check if you set a hard-link which associated the target partition. You may run command prompt and use “dir x:”(x: is the backup target Driver letter) to export the detail of the backup target. Please post the result here.
