OWA password reset questions within Exchange 2007 RRS feed

  • Quick question regarding the ability to reset passwords via OWA in Exchange 2007.

We've got Exchange 2007 SP3 running on Windows 2008. If I'm not mistaken, OWA allows a user to reset their password provided that it has not already expired or they are not logging on for the first time.

However, from this article http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2008/12/09/3406604.aspx it appears that I'd have to implement ISA 2006 if I want to provide this functionality.

Then in another article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb684904.aspx MS states a simple registry setting allows users to reset passwords after they've expired. The article is referenced in the first link I noted as a 2007 solution, but its referring to Exchange 2010.

Does this apply to 2007? Does this also account for allowing users that have to change their password at first logon?

Thanks in advanced for any response.
