Migrate SSU to GPO? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a shared profile setup for a workgroup computer running XP. My customer wants to use GPO to apply the SteadyState settings to computers in his domain. Is there a way to import or migrate the SSU file into GPO?

  • If I open the SSU file with Notepad, it looks like the standard XML for a policy is inside. Can I just copy that to a new XML and import that into GPO?

  • Hi Rob, thanks for the post. I cannot guarantee that copy to a new XML will work in GPO and we do not have official method to migrate the settings in SteadyState to GPO. However, you can use SCTsettings.adm to deploy group policy. This adm is located under C:\Program Files\Windows SteadyState\ADM (I assume that SteadyState in installed under C:)

    Hope this helps!
