No ring-tone on oubound calls RRS feed

  • Hi!

    When a user dials an outside number or tries to make a communicator call, just one ring-tone is heard, then nothing more. The call is proceeding, but no ringing on the client. This just stopped working a couple of weeks ago, has been fine before. What can be the cause of this?

  • What EV setup are you using (media gateway, Direct SIP, brands of equipment, etc)?  Typically this is caused by a configuration issue on a media gateway.

  • Also make sure there have been no changes to the firewall.  You may want to test this with a cell phone and see if the phone actually rings and if you hear one-way audio.

  • Thanks for the answers.

    Well, we have a mediation server with a SIP trunk to external telephony (PSTN). It works as it should, ie it's possible to dial both in and out, with duplex sound in both directions. It's just the ringtone. We have simultaneus ring enabled, to be able to take the call in our mobile devices. I'll try to switch that of and see what happens. The the thing is that we have the problem on all OC clients, even a Polycom phone. We alse have SNOM-phones, but they work as expected.

  • I have tested without forwarding (simultaneus ring), with the same result. Strange....

    The ring-tone is genered by the client, you can change which sound that OC should use. So, why should this suddenly stop working, even for internal intra OC calls????
