Webpart to list all changes done to lists, document library files (including folders), etc

Question

I use WSS3 for hosting team sites. I am looking for having each site in sharepoint to show all changes done to lists, document library files (including folders), etc. It would be great if there is a webpart that can be put on the root of the site and then have users who visit that sharepoint site see the recent changes done.
It may clutter up if there are too many changes, but avoids site users to set Alerts for each of the individual document libraries to be set for alerts. Once can avoid checking email for each alert and visit the project site main page and quickly review the changes that are happening within that site.
I hope this is doable.
