LifeCam VX-800 running on XP RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have just purchased a lifecam vx-800 and I am having grief getting the laptop to install/recognise the driver.

Are there any issues with running this on XP.

There was a logitech (external) webcam in use with this machine previously.

I have uninstalled any cam drivers on th emachine.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled the driver for the lifecam several times, but in the device manager it keeps showing the lifecam with a yellow question mark beside it.

Maybe the driver I am trying is not compatible with XP?

I was led to believe it would be simple plug and play, but I can't see that being the case as XP is most likely older that the cam, so the issue is most lieky that I have an incorrect driver.

Any tips, tricks would be appreciated!

  • Hi,

This issue is common where you had installed previously a logitech cam.

See Guide: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929087 to troubleshoot and download new drivers.
