DPM 2012 R2: VSS error "the bootfile is too small to support persistent snapshots" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm encountering an error when protecting a VM. DPM event log indicates that "the bootfile is too small to support persistent snapshots".

    • The VM is on a Hyper-V 2012 R2 cluster.
    • All integration services are enabled.
    • SCSI controller is present.
    • No errors in the state of the VSS writers.
    • Other VMs on the host back up successfully.
    • VM backup issue occurs on any host within the cluster

Any other thoughts/ideas on resolving this VM-level backup issue?
