Queue Job Service on Front End RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

In my Project Server 2013 FARM, I have Queue Job service running on my Application Servers it is consuming 80-90% of memory, Would it be a good idea to have it running on FEs also? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  • Syed,

Thats odd - I would expect the queue service to consume about 50MB when idle up to about 1GB when busy.  Perhaps try restarting the queue service to see if the memory consumption returns.

I would not activate the Project Server Application Service on your front-end machines.  The only reason you might consider doing that is if the volume of traffic through the queue is causing large delays - and even then this is most often best remediated by turning your attention to the SQL Database for performance optimisations.

    Good Luck,
