Use powershell to get Remote Control Properties Settings

    Question

  • Hi guys,

I need to develop a powershell script that gets which users got the remote control properties enabled on the entire domain. Is that possible without using third party modules?

When trying to Get-aduser -properties *, it do not shows this properties.

    Best Regards.

  • This should get you what you want. Each value will show different checks/options on that page, the full definition of each value is below as well.

    $user = [ADSI]"LDAP://CN=UserID,OU=Accounts_User,DC=mdnet,DC=local"
    #Disable 0 – Remote control is disabled.

    $result = $user.InvokeGet("EnableRemoteControl")
    Write-Host $result

    Disable
    0 (0x0)

    Remote control is disabled.

    EnableInputNotify
    1 (0x1)

The user of remote control has full control of the user's session, with the user's permission.

    EnableInputNoNotify
    2 (0x2)

The user of remote control has full control of the user's session; the user's permission is not required.

    EnableNoInputNotify
    3 (0x3)

The user of remote control can view the session remotely, with the user's permission; the remote user cannot actively control the session.

    EnableNoInputNoNotify
    4 (0x4)

The user of remote control can view the session remotely, but not actively control the session; the user's permission is not required.
