Hi
This is not really a proble with Vista Per se.
I have a test machine running Vista RC2 build 5744.
Configuration is 1.6GHz AMD processor, 1GB Ram
3 80 GB Hard Disks (C, D, and E)
C has the OS and those applications which absolutely insist on installing on the system drive.
D has the software
E has all data.
Drive D has gone bad, (Booted this morning showing a RAW filesystem) causing me to need to reinstall the software. When Itry to install VS 2005 and/or Office 2007 B2 all I can get is a reinstall/repair or uninstall option. However since drive D is not there it won't do this. Is it possible to clean out the registry to enable me to reinstall (before anyone asks, no I don't have a backup, I only rebuilt this machine 3 days ago).
