Can an unaddressed WGA failure block IE RRS feed

  • Question

  • One of the kids' computers which is running XP Pro SP 3 and ie 7 failed WGA (I am confident that the OS is legit, so my second question will be what info do I need when I call the MS Activation Ctr, if indeed that is what I do.)  My 1st question is can WGA failure prevent ie from running?  Outlook and picks up her mail, HTTP: Error 12029

  • Hi,

Regarding your first question, the WGA failure won't prevent IE from running. In other words, IE still can work properly. Your connection issue could be caused by 3 third party antivirus or firewall.

Regarding your second question, before contacting Microsoft Activation Center.

If you have any issue when running the computer including the connection issue, please contact Windows XP Forum to get more help.
