After locking a workstation connected to a server, the workstation cannot be unlocked RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using Remote Desktop on to a server.  Every time that I lock my workstation, I come back to find that I cannot unlock it.

I am told that I am using an invalid password.  If I try to use the server admin password that also fails.

The workstation is using Windows 7 Professional SP1 and the server uses Server 2003 SP2.

The only way that I can regain control of my workstation is to do a hard shutdown and restart.

Sometimes if I lock the workstation with the server screen minimised I can get back in, but not always.

No-one else in my department has this problem and no-one I have spoken to has ever seen this happen.

I have had my machine rebuilt a number of times, but no change in its behaviour.

    This is driving me bats.

Has anyone any ideas on what is going on here, preferably with a solution?
