Cannot forward message to external address by MS Outlook Inbox rule

    Question

  • Hi all,

    I'm using MS Outlook 2010 , Exchange 2013 CU7 , I want to set a rule like :
If abc@gmail.com send a message to me@mydomain.com then forward it to xyz@gmail.com

I set a rule in MS Outlook :

But it didn't work , me@mydomain.com received message from abc@gmail.com but xyz@gmail.com didn't receive any message , abc@gmail.com and me@domain.com didn't get any error message from server. This is log

However , it works fine if I set a rule on mail flow server ECP

Can I make it work by MS Outlook Inbox rule somehow ?

    Thanks.

Answers

  • Hi

Kindly use powershell command to get remote domain default and see if it is the one created for * recipient domain.

Get-RemoteDomain Default | fl AllowedOOFType, AutoReplyEnabled, AutoForwardEnabled

Then you can use set command to allow autoforward enable. This will allow outlook to forward emails to external addresses.

    Set-RemoteDomain default –AutoForwardEnabled $true

    Thanks & Regards Ramandeep Singh
