Windows Disk Protection msg RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running Steady State 2.5 on an XP SP3 computer.  I needed to turn off WDP so that I could image this computer.  I opened Steady State and selected turn off WDP and was prompted that it was going to reboot.  Upon reboot I get the following msg, "Windows Disk Protection is about to restart the computer.  Please wait....  Do not manually turn off or restart the computer".  I waited for 30 minutes with no disk activity.  I thought that maybe it was stuck so I rebooted the computer.  The same messge keeps appearing with no disk activity.  I booted into safe mode and searched for the cache.wdp file but the search ended up with no luck.  I went into Add/Remove programs to remove Steady State but could not find it.  Every time I reboot, I get the error message.  Is there any way I can get Steady State off this computer now?
