I have been working with the trial version of the AVE Explorer product that will allow you to directly edit the SFT files. I can see many times where just a file needs to be updated or a registry key modified but you do not need to fully resequence.
One of the options of the product is to save the SFT in an "as-is" mode, which does not increment the version number. That too seems like it might be a good idea. If you load this updated SFT file back on the streaming server, what would tell
the client to pickup the new version?
Is there a way (short of completely deleting the application) to update the local client cache with the updated SFT file even though the version has not changed? Will a simple unload of the application and subsequent load accomplish this? In
this scenario are the user settings for the application preserved?
Maybe a new version is always the way to go? Comments?
