Project Server 2010 Trial License Upgrade RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone!

We are trying to upgrade from trial versions of Project Server 2010 and SharePoint Server 2010 to licensed ones.

We have two license keys, one for Project Server 2010 and one for SharePoint Server Enterprise 2010.

In "Central Administration" - "Upgrade and Migration" - "Convert farm license type" we can only enter Project Server license key, if we try to enter SharePoint key first, we recive a message:

"This product key cannot be used to convert Project Server 2010 Trial to Project Server 2010."

Project server license key works well, but it is impossibe to enter SharePoint key after Project Server key (Field is Disabled)

Do we need to enter SharePoint License key at all? If yes, how can we do that?

  • The Project key should upgrade both as Project is a super SKU, if you will.

Does that mean that we didn't need to buy the Sharepoint license? Did purchasing Project include the Sharepoint license, so I actually purchased a redundant license?
