Problem with Resource mailbox RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

There is a problem with resource mailbox. When I add someone as delegate to view private items of the calendar, that user automatically gets added into booking delegates of the room. This is not the expected behavior. Please suggest.

    Thanks,

    Aditya

  • Hi,

If you add the delegation as following, it will be add to the delegate list automatically:

It’s recommended to add the permission with the following command:

    Add-MailboxFolderPermission resourcemailbox@yourdomain.com:Calendar -User test@yourdomain.com –AccessRights AvailabilityOnly

    Please refer to: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd298062(v=exchg.160).aspx

    Hope it helps.

  • I have a doubt, if we add someone under booking delegates through Exchange Admin center, will it replicate the same user into delegate under outlook too? aren't they two different in scope of administration and management ?

Also, by using above command, user won't be able to view private items.

The requirement is user wants to view private items, and do not receive any notification to approve or reject meetings on behalf of room mailbox.

  • Thanks for your reply.

It's the same scope of administration and management.

It's recommended to runnning the following command and check the result:

    Add-MailboxFolderPermission resourcemailbox@yourdomain.com:Calendar -User test@yourdomain.com –AccessRights LimitedDetails

    Hope it helps.
