One file is damaged, need to repair RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I cannot install one critical update in Windows server 2008 SP2 Enterprise 32 bit O/S.

I ran a SFC /scannow and found one file that does not match the correct hash value.

How can I replace this one file? This file is located in three different folders.

Here are several lines of what the SFC utility reported. This occured six times in the CBS log for the same file.

Reading several postings, someone said to start the computer booting off of the 2008 installation cd and select repair. Not sure what to do after that. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    PAR

  • Hi Techsupp,

You may check if you could copy the file "scwvariables.xml" from a working server 2008 SP2, if it still couldn't work, I would suggest an in-place upgrade.

    Best Regards,

    Anne
