How to solve this problem: The file *. PML was not closed cleanly during capture and is corrupt RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I use procmon to trace which process deleted some specified files.
But sometimes the computer will be abnormally shutdown, resulting in PML files not closed properly.

When I open this PML file with procmon, the following error message is prompted:

The file 'C:\test0.PML' was not closed cleanly during caputer and is corrupt.

How can I browse the abnormally closed content in this PML file?

Or is there another way to record CSV/XML log directly with procmon?

  • Unfortunately there is no way right now to do what you need..

Mark already did a great job of creating multiple trace files so to reduce the impact of the problem to the latest file, but the format is a binary format which may contain many different type of information.. just think at the captured stack trace and to the network information.. it is probably not convenient in term of performance to create a standard type of record that can be aligned when the file is closed abruptly.

So, right now there is nothing to do to prevent those kind of problems to my knowledge..
