SharePoint Online "Managed Path" feature available or not

Answers

  • The first link says that it's not available online, which is correct, but I wouldn't trust anything on SharePoint Online that was written 4 years ago, the technology has moved on a lot since then.

The second link does state it's possible but it's wrong.

You can't create managed paths for Office 365, it's definitely not a PowerShell cmdlet (check the list here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-GB/library/fp161364.aspx#VerbOrder).

The user's friend is probably getting garbled, you can do it on-prem, you can't in O365.
