BizTalk 2010 MP and Cluster RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, having a question regarding SCOM 2012, BizTalk 2010 MP and clustered environment.

    Our environment:

We have two servers called Server1 and Server2. The servers are running Cluster service and BizTalk 2010 Enterprise.
In the Cluster we have a cluster group called BTSCluster containing MSDTC and 2 clustered BizTalk hosts called Receive_Clu and Send_Clu. The clustered BizTalk hosts are Active/Passive. Beyond that we also have three more hosts who are not clustered and having host instances on both Server1 and Server2. These non clustered hosts are simply called Receive, Send and Orchestration.

We have installed the Agents on the server but looking under Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 - Application Views - Hosts State view I only see the hosts running on the active node (Server1)  including the Clustered hosts.
The Monitor does not show the hosts running on Server2. Is this an expected behavior?

In the BizTalk 2010 MP it says:

In clustered environments that contains active/passive nodes; rely on the
monitoring information displayed in the virtual node only. This is because the
virtual node always points to the physical node that is active at any point in
    time.

Is it not possible to monitor both clustered host and non-clustered hosts on the same server enviroment?

Does anybody know how to configure SCOM to monitor BizTalk enviroment containing  non-clustered and clustered hosts?

    Ralf
