Problems with WMI RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi There,

We are running windows vista on our network and I am finding that some of our machines (30) to be exact, are giving me WMI errors - and thus won't display information from a select query, or install windows updates.

Is it possible that we have corrupt WMI on the machines affected? This is random as all the machines are imaged, most are ok, just these few are not.

An example of an error we get is as follows:

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 4 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "MSNdis_ReceivesOk"" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/wmi" because of error 0x80041010. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

This happens when a VBscript runs a query against the PC to get the IP Address and MAC Address.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks
    Matt
